The Hartford Golf Club’s best kept secret is its duckpin bowling alley. Dating from the late 1920’s and “updated” with automatic pin changers in 1955 and completely renovated in 2023, the four hardwood lanes reside in a special nook of the basement opposite the new exercise/multi-use room.Those that know duckpin bowling understand the fun, competitive, exhilarating, and sometimes frustrating nature of this quirky game. It features a smaller ball and shorter pins than typical bowling, which often combine for unpredictable results.
The bowling ball itself weighs only 2 to 4 pounds, making this sport available for all ages. Hartford Golf Club members from age 4 to 94 can be found at the bowling lanes - no equipment is necessary, balls and shoes of all sizes are provided. Just bring your sense of humor and join in the nostalgic fun.
