Description:
Devereaux Emmett - 1921. This is a picturesque dogleg par 4 across a creek to small and well-bunkered green. This is the only hole on the course where you can pick your drive line to materially shorten the hole. The corner of the dogleg is guarded not only by the meandering creek, but by a large willow and a fairway bunker tucked into the crook of the creek. A pushed drive can find the right hand fairway bunkers or the woods. The green is narrow but feeds the second shot toward the center. The creek remains a threat left of the green.
How to Play It:
Only the longest players try to carry the willow, so play your ball just on the right edge of the left fairway bunker. On this line you will need to carry your shot 220 so pick your line to fit your skill. A little right is safe as the fairway is tilted toward the tee and to the left and usually offers a favorable bounce. The narrow green accepts shots hit to the right or left edges.
